Overview

Picocrypt NG is a lightweight file encryption tool designed to protect files with a simple offline workflow. It uses XChaCha20 encryption with Argon2id key derivation and supports password based encryption, keyfiles, paranoid encryption mode, Reed Solomon error correction, file splitting, compression and plausible deniability. It provides desktop and command line interfaces as well as an Android application and browser based client side encryption for supported operations. Picocrypt NG is a community developed continuation of the original Picocrypt project, which was archived in 2025.
