Mastodon

Overview

Mastodon is a decentralized, open-source social networking platform built on a federated architecture that allows users to join independently operated servers, called instances, while still communicating seamlessly across the entire network. This structure gives communities full control over moderation policies, data ownership, and platform governance, promoting greater privacy, transparency, and resistance to censorship compared to centralized social media platforms.
